As most of you have heard we had a pretty eventful Friday night at our house. The boys were playing golf with Mike when Brandon accidentally swung and connected with Ryan right underneath his left eye. After talking with the advice nurse, I took him up to Urgent Care (thankfully still open, so we were able to avoid the ER!) to have him examined. Ryan was absolutely amazing. He cooperated every single step of the way. He let them clean the wound, which included spraying a saline bath over his cut and therefore eye, pull on it, dress it with numbing solutions, let the doctors pull on the cut and his eye lid a lot more in an attempt to turn a u-shaped cut into a straight line to avoid stitches, and finally glue it, all with out so much as a peep. He loved all of the attention from the doctor and two nurses that came to visit them. They all chuckled as he happily showed off his fireman pjs (this all happened at literally 7:00 right before bedtime!) and his spiderman shoes. I think that the doctor and nurses were happy to have such a cooperative almost 2 year old! Here he is hamming it up for me so that I could send pictures to his auntie and uncle and then sitting with the numbing ointment on.
This is the next day, glued and a bit swollen!
So, our plans for a nice beach day were washed away because Ryan couldn't get his "wound" wet or dirty. So in an attempt to keep a very active toddler calm, we headed to the Jelly Belly Factory to see where one of his favorite candies were made!
Brandon refused to wear the hat at first, but then thought it was pretty cool since he could wear it over his baseball hat.His eye looking much better, while proudly displaying his Jelly Belly hat.
And, of course, we can't go anywhere without finding a toy to drive or play in!
So, even though our weekend didn't go as planned, we had fun and our happy to report that Ryan is on the mend!
